The term faculty refers to a school’s teaching and administrative staff responsible for designing and teaching programs of study.
A faculty adviser’s primary responsibilities are teaching, research and service to the institution and his/her own academic discipline. Faculty advisers also assist students with academic planning, meeting degree requirements and setting education and career goals. They give specific advice for majors, preparing them for advanced study and careers, and provide information about co-curricular opportunities and individual academic/research work. Mizzou students have access to several types of advisers.
